8/18

every morning i comb my arms for five minutes.

every five seconds i take off my shoes.

every year we change our ears.

whenever i cry i give myself three pennies.

wherever i sigh i brush up against bark.

at the start of each season i wreck my car.

in the middle of the night i envision rain.

after combing my arms i braid my thoughts.

before braiding my hair i break some rocks.

each time i hear my name i run as fast as i can’t.

at 4pm i follow the snails.

by midnight i’ll have pulled five rhyming songs from out my head.

by dawn i’ll have embroidered a garden bed.

invisible in the sky

muted in the pool

feel close to strangers

float around some more

10/20

i reach through the double image times two, you

my six hands long for four you

i  think about the time we tripped & tricked, you

only to find us tripped & trapped by you

i wonder if it’s you i see in the mirror, you

when my eight hands reach out missing you

i hold a sense of you in a corner of my mind, you

we hold each other in the image of you
